It was a great success in Taiwan and in other Asian countries released in 2007. Jay Chou and Kwai Lun Mei are the lead role. It has been 4 years when it was out.. hahahaha, Is it too late to watch it??? Absolutely NO!!! =) Quite pity that I have known this just a week ago. This movie was released in 2007 in Taiwan and a year after to South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and mainland China. Jay Chou, who is a Taiwan Pop King Singer (he's a super star there. and a lot of fans adore him). In the movie, he showcase his talent in playing Piano. This man really has the talent, and I envy him of being an exceptionally great Pianist. He himself wrote the movie, composed its songs, and even directed it. Amazing right? Before this movie, he is known for being a singer, song writer, composer, and musician.
The movie has an amazing line-up of actors and actresses. Jay Chou acted the lead role as Ye XiangLun. Kwai Lun Mei, this beautiful and equally talented lady who played Lu XiaoYu as Jay Chou's love interest. Alice Tzeng was the other girl in the movie namedQing Yi. The Hong Kong veteran actor Anthony Wong appeared here also as Jay Chou's father. And Zhan Yu Hao, a talented musician and piano player also appear in a cameo in this movie and showcase his piano skills in a duel with Jay Chou. (the scene where they had a piano duel is fantastic.. it's like they have a magical hands :D )
I came to watch this Taiwanese movie last night. The reason why I want to watch this is because of the Piano and for its mystery. I keep in wondering since my friend posted it on his Facebook Account.
And it is true! this movie was fantastic.. :)
anyway, before I continue my opinion about this movie, let me tell you what the story is all about.. ^_^
The movie is about the two students namely Ye Xiang Lun and Lu XiaoYu. They are both secondary student majoring in piano. These two are really great in playing piano.. (I wish I was a great pianist like them =( I play piano well but not as great as them)..
Ye Xiang Lun (Jay Chou), a secondary student majoring in piano transfers to Tamkang (Danjiang) Secondary School. It is a school famous for musically talented students, especially in piano. On his first day while walking through the halls of the music building, he hears someone playing piano in the old piano room. He found a girl named Lu Xiao Yu, a music major student also. Xiao Yu is a little bit shy but feels at ease whenever she's with Xiang Lun.
After a few days at school, Xiang Lun dares the school Prince of the Piano, Yu Hao, for a piano dueling competition. Nobody actually wins as they both are equally talented. How ever, as promise, Yu Hao gives Xiang Lun a music sheets that is hard to find which is the swan lake (whatever! haha.. i can't really remember well the title of that piece.)
As days go by, these two starts to have a romantic relationship. One time at the old piano room, Xiang Lun and Xiao Yu played piano as a duo. Suddenly they stop after hearing footsteps. The music teacher has heard them (it's Xiang Lun's father actually). He enters the music room only to find Jay alone in front of the piano. He asks Jay how Jay can play a duo alone. And he said that he heard a piano duet a while ago. Jay only answers him maybe he played too fast. Rain is actually hiding in the closet. The teacher opens the closet and says nothing. He left the room. Xiang Lun is curious as why the teacher didn’t say anything. Xiao Yu then opened the closet and sat beside Xiang Lun. Xiang Lun then said to Xiao Yu that as long as he plays well they wouldn't mind him. Xiao Yu answered back saying that, "As long as I got have a good grades"

Xiang Lun makes an appointment to meet Xiao Yu at the old piano room at 7pm. While playing the piano with eyes shut, someone enter the room (and it's Qing Yi!!! ggggrrrrrr). Xiang Lun simply makes a move telling that person to kiss him. Qing Yi, who enters the room kissed him. (Xiang Lun didn't know that the person who entered isn't Xiao Yu). When he finally opens his eyes, Xiang Lun is shocked and ran out from the room only to hear Da Yong, the retarded janitor, shouting that Xiao Yu ran away crying.
Xiao Yu never goes to school anymore. Every day after school, Xiang Lun will go to Xiao Yu's house hoping that he would see her. There is an old lady living in that house (Xiao Yu's mother and Xiang Lun didn't know her). The old lady simply answers him that Xiao Yu's asthma is getting worse and she have to drop school to rest.
Five months have passed since Xiang Lun saw Xiao Yu. He continues with his life as usual but he feels so empty and he thinks that Xiao Yu is by his side playing duo with him. He is getting closer with Qing Yi but never had a romantic feelings.
On their graduation day, Xiang Lun plays the piano (as a promise to Xiao Yu, he will compose a song that is just for her and dedicated to her and that song will be played in their graduation day). Before his performance, he can't se Xiao Yu. While playing, he hopes to see Xiao Yu. Wandering around, he suddenly sees her standing at the far back of the hall. When Xiao Yu realizes that he has seen by Xiang Lun, she started to leave. Xiang Lun, without second thoughts, stops playing and run after Xiao Yu. And everyone was shocked!
Xiang Lun went to the classroom only to find Bao and Lang stealing from the student’s private locker. He asks them if they sees a girl, the one that dance with him during the School Dance. They tell him that he was dancing alone all the time. At this moment, Xiang Lun realizes that Xiao Yu is not real.
While sitting alone in the classroom thinking of what he just discovers, a sentence (in liquid white ink) appears on Xiao Yu’s table (the one who writes there invisibly is Xiao Yu). He answers back also with writing on the table using liquid white ink. This is when the weird part truly starts. The main climax of the story starts here.....

BUT I DO GUARANTEE you, IT IS THE MOST ROMANTIC taiwanese movie...
